Under expert guidance, approximately 500 meters of the section near the entrance (the Spannagel Cave is over 10 km long) can be visited year-round on a one-hour tour. After getting dressed (helmet, protective coat, skiers are provided with rubber boots), you head to the cave entrance, located directly at the Spannagelhaus. A natural stone staircase leads you elegantly down to the "main entrance." Even there, washouts and boulders larger than a football give an idea of the powerful torrents that played a role in the formation of this cave system.

An impressive passageway, past the "portholes," finally leads you to the "water passage." Circular glacial mills tell the story of the formation of this part of the cave. A cave museum has been established in the eastern section of this passage, where several treasures from the mountain's interior are on display. Blue-gray-white banded marbles can be seen, whose beauty never ceases to amaze visitors.
